While raising my mom and her siblings, my grandmother owned a store called The Lamppost.

To make all of this happen, she had to let go of running her house and raising her children alone which, at the time, was unusual. She built a community around her family so that it was all possible. Today this is much more normal and, still, I find myself borrowing from her model. I love what is possible when we embrace a "more is more" concept of community—especially as it relates to our creativity and our families.

Hi, I’m Freddi!

I am a professional facilitator. This means that I guide groups of leaders through shared and sometimes complex envisioning, learning, and planning toward a united, heart-centric mission. My work as a partner and cofounder of the Center for Sustainable Leadership drives change in the organizational behavior and mindset of public school systems and social justice organizations. We focus on the gradual growth of organizational impact through strategies that increase the focus, sustainability, longevity, and empowerment of all leaders at all levels of the organization.

In my work leading Lamppost Learning, I am a coach and consultant. I coach those interested in eschewing the norms of business leadership in service of gradually, incrementally, and powerfully bringing about the world that they believe is possible. I support executive leaders in both the strategy and expression of their leadership. One’s joy is a central, organizing focus of my work and I am skilled at facilitation that yields true creativity. A former client remarked that working with Lamppost means that the ideas will just flow.

My work blends the soulful and practical, the right brain as well as the left brain. I am a trained coach, certified yoga teacher, and a mother. I am also a seasoned systems leader and management consultant, bringing an analytical acumen to my work. I hold degrees from the London School of Economics as well as the University of Virginia. I believe that with curiosity and skill, our “work” has the potential to liberate us.
